Listed in an Anglo-Saxon Chronicle of 969 as Wafundun, Wavendon as we know it today is a rural village integrated with the larger conurbation of Milton Keynes. Here, everything you’d expect from a forward thinking community is on hand, from a myriad of sports clubs to an international standard music venue on your doorstep.

The 18-hole Wavendon Golf Club boasts a driving range, restaurant and full club shop mere minutes away, while The Stables – the brainchild of jazz pioneers Johnny Dankworth and Cleo Laine, the latter of whom still lives there – has grown over the years to host internationally renowned acts.

Completely rebuilt in 2000 and with a subsequent redevelopment in 2007, there are now more than 350 concerts a year at the intimate, two-stage venue.
